REVIEWS.
"The only info we have for this disc is that it was created by Leandro Xhaltez in Koblenz, Germany and performed on a modular synthesizer system. Modular synthesizers were first developed in the mid-sixties (by Moog and Buchla) and became popular in the seventies. In a sense, the modular synth used here is both ancient (forty years) and modern sonically. Similar to the sounds of Terry Riley or Tangerine Dream, from the same period (mid-seventies), the sounds here are warm, and often soothing. What I hear is a series of subtle oscillations or waves, pulsating slowly and expanding as they evolve. The music evolves and changes slowly with occasional drones or waves crashing on the shores in our minds’ vacation places. The overall effect is like creating a somber sonic web, altering our realities quietly and without too much interference or distractions. Today (1/5/17) it is cold and overcast outside my window. The music here is somehow soothing, warm and enchanting in its own way. Will it snow as they predict? Who knows for sure. The music is enticing nonetheless."

"[...] His gentle drones wash across the mind’s eye and then disappear leaving behind only scant recollections of their existence. When the day has ended and you find the skies beginning to turn you will hear his music again, gently pulling on your hand to lead you back into mystery.
Many are the thoughts I have when I’m listening to such beautiful compositions; blades of grass shimmering in the early morning mist, wind whispering through the stripped and shorn branches of trees and rain washed streets gritting their teeth under the unremitting cavalcade of commuters.
‘Writing on Water’ is a celebration of quiet times, it has no agenda to push nor does what it contains seem to want anything more than to be left alone. Pursuits of vanity, flights of fancy, that ephemeral praise from faceless names… these are not what matter in life. Wealth, power and privilege cannot subvert what’s being put on offer with a record such as this. [...]"
